Power in the Tongue

Something you should know, God's words say in essesence, name it and claim it. The power is in the tongue.
Listen, God says: Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof".
Matthew 12:37 "For by thy words thous shalt be justified, and by they words thou shalt be condemned. "

I claim healing (by His stripes we were healed). I claim prosperity (be in health)
III John 2.

  MOST IMPORTANTLY:  Romans 10:8-13..

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Second Comes Repentance

We have been talking about being born again and how we retain salvation.
Today I want to talk about Repentance.

In The Bible we see first hand what repentance is and baptism. Let's look at the Book of Matthew staring in chapter 3:

Chapter 3  (KJV)

John preaches: his work, life, and baptism

1  In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

He reprimands the Pharisees, and baptizes Jesus in Jordan

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.  Here we see baptism (which is an outward action) showing our wish to turn from our sin through repentance.
Andrew Wommack explains this further in his Living Commentary:

Matthew 3:2

Life For Today Study Bible Notes

Note 1 at Mt. 3:2: "Repent" comes from the Greek word "metanoeo" and literally means to have another mind. It is used 34 times in the New Testament. Repentance is a necessary part of salvation (Mt 4:17; Lu 13:3). Repentance may include godly sorrow (2Co 7:9), but sorrow does not always include repentance. Repentance is simply a change of mind accompanied by corresponding actions (Mt 3:8; Jas 2:17).
—Andrew Wommack's Living Commentary

So far we now know we must have faith the Jesus Christ is the son of God who came to pay the penalty for our sins through His death on the cross. Second we know we must then repent of our sinful ways and turn from the sins.
It is important to note that at our baptism or conversion, although we repent of our sins, our repentance doesn't end there.  In the Book of Luke Jesus is giving the disciple's an example of how to pray, notice in verse 4 the asking of forgiveness of  sins and forgiving others their sins against us.
Luke 11 (KJV)
Christ teaches how to pray

1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

We are to ask forgiveness of our sins daily, for we sin daily, and although we have salvation through our faith and belief we are still sinful people, and need to be washed clean every day.

These are very important things to dwell on, read and study The scriptures, read them out loud to your self so that you can burn them into you heart.  There are no doubts for those who know the promises of God inside their hearts.

Are You Born Again?

Are you a born again Christian?  Yet you sometines have doubts?  Do you wonder if you did it all right, if you are still saved, did you lose your salvation?

These are normal questions for those who have not studied The Scriptures.
Today we will look at the meaning of being born again.
So lets take a look at some of those scriptures as we read a Bible Teachers notes:

Jn. 3:3: The new birth is essential for entering into the kingdom of God (v. 5). As Jesus explained to Nicodemus, this is not a second physical birth, but rather a spiritual birth. Our spiritual man became dead unto (separated from) God through sin (Ro 3:23; Ro 6:23; Ro 7:9, 11; Eph 2:1, 5). Just as we didn't accomplish our physical birth, we cannot produce this spiritual rebirth. We are totally incapable of saving ourselves (Jer 13:23; Ro 3:10-12; Ro 8:7-8; Eph 2:3); therefore, we need a Savior (Tit 1:4; Tit 2:13; Tit 3:4,6). We simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and we are saved (Ac 16:31). Faith is the only condition (Ro 3:28; Ro 10:6-9). Faith alone saves. However, saving faith is never alone. As stated in James 2:17-18, "faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone . . . shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works." Salvation is not a reformation, but rather a regeneration, a new birth, a new creation (2Co 5:17), that can only be accomplished by a creative miracle of the Holy Spirit (Joh 1:13; Joh 3:5).—Andrew Wommack's Living Commentary

I would quote all the scriptures, but you need to look them up.  I recommend that you use "The King James Version".  (If by chance you do not have a Bible, I recommend going to the book store and getting one, or you can look up scripture on many good websites, one is www.biblegateway.com, or Google "Bible").

Some simple scriptures are as follows (but please study them):

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.    He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:16-18 (KJV)

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:8-17 (KJV)

We have to have faith to believe, but we also need to hear the word of God, and act on it.  We have to believe that Jesus died for our sins, that is, we must  have faith in what we can not see; yet we have these testimonies from the Scriptures.  We need to study the Scriptures and pray.
Today I will end with this last scripture:

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Jesus)
Matt 7:7-8 (KJV)

Living a Christian Life in a non-believing World

How hard is your life?  Do you find yourself trying to live as a true follower of Jesus Christ but being shut down at every turn?
Welcome to the world of sin.
Now I do not wish to sound hard, but when you face deception and heartache at every turn, why do you think that is.
It is summed up in just a short passage from the Book of Ephesians and another from the Book of II Corinthians as followers:

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."  Ephesians 6:12  KJV

" For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."
II Corinthians 10:3-6  KJV

I have been studying scripture a lot recently, and I have found more truths in The Bible than I realized were there.  I always thought I was smart, but I wasn't studying like I should have.  Now I am finding more and more truth in The Written Word than I knew was there.

So what I wanted to share besides the above is that I know that this has been an uncomfortable last few months with the election..  some words were said in the heat of the battle, and unfortunately some of those words came from we who should know better.
You see it doesn't matter who is in the government running things, but what does matter is that we are praying for them and asking God's guidance in their lives (and ours).  Also keeping in mind that we can not be good Christians if we slander, fight and yell.  For as Christians, we know what the word says, and if we don't, then shame on us.

 "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;"  1 Timothy 2:1-3 KJV

God has given us so much power and authority by His Word, through the blood of Jesus Christ.  It is time we claimed that power and used it in accordance with the instruction given us in The Word.  Time time is short, the harvest is white and we need to be reaping in these last days.

If these words peak your interest in The Word, and you want to know more, read and study.  If you want to know where, how or why my interest is so great, message me, call me (931-863-3936), write me.. I want to hear from you.

Now keeping in mind these things, remember to:

"....take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness:And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;   And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,"   Ephesians 6:13-19  KJV

Guidance for Living in God's Grace

As you read this, think about sitting with God in a quiet setting, and He is speaking with you as His child (which you are).

Proverbs 3

My son (child), forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
32 For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

King James Version (KJV)

This is only the beginning of wisdom from God through King Solomon, you will find more ways to live in God's promises if you read and study the Bible.  We are to live the life of Christ and in God's word you will find the wisdom to do that.

Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom/Redemption in Christ

Ephesians 1 *

King James Version (KJV)
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

THE PURIFYING OF OUR FAITH

Our Faith is purified through our trials, just as gold and silver are purified through the fiery furnace.

It is so important for God to lead us through life and takes us through the fire, the storms,  the deepest waters and the pain of our afflictions.
Just as a carpenter makes something useful from a piece of wood, or a sculptor makes something beautiful from a piece of marble, Jesus the Master Carpenter/Sculptor makes something both beautiful and useful from us when He works on us in our life.

Do not resist Him, do not avoid Him, but fall into His loving hands and be made into a work of beauty.

Hebrews 11: 32-40

ARE YOU SITTING ON THE FENCE?

Are you sitting on the fence when it comes to a lot of things the people around you, the politicians, or the Bible says, or the preacher says, or God is saying to you?

The choice is not to sit the fence but to pick a side; and it starts in the Old Testament.

Genesis 3

King James Version (KJV)
3 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Okay, so what is it gonna be, What God said, or what the serpent says?  Can't sit the fence, what is your choice?

Then we jump all the way to Joshua Chapter 24:  after God lead the people out of Egypt, the people are given a choice about who they will serve.

14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Lord: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

24 And the people said unto Joshua, The Lord our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

So how about the questions of the day, abortion, sex, lying, cheating, stealing, etc.  In the Book of Revelations Chapter 3:

13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spit thee out of my mouth.

17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

You see, we have to make choices, the right choices.  Many have laughed at the WWJD, (What would Jesus Do?),  but it is truth.  We need to make every decision based on Jesus/God;  not on what someone else  says, what we were taught or told, unless it lines up with God's word and Spirit.

So what is it gonna be?  Can't sit the fence, make a choice now,   "...as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

ARE YOU HUNGRY --FOR GOD?

Every day like thousands of other people, I yearn for something in my life to make it feel---right.  I know what my hunger is for.  Everyday when I walk into the back yard and see the beautiful blue sky the different wisps of clouds, hear the birds singing, see my Grace (my horse) grazing next to Silas (the goat) I am filled with the love of God visible in my sight.  I feel like breaking out in song, "How great Thou art... how great Thou art....!"  My heart is so filled with love and passion for my God.  I would that today He would return to take me home.

What about you.  Do you feel the call of God, His love and caring hands reaching out to your soul?

"As the deer pants for the water, so my soul pants after You .... You, O Lord, are my hearts desire and I long to worship You.."

My heart aches greatly for My Lord and God....

Come quickley Lord Jesus!

LET US CONTINUE IN FAITH, BELIEVING

Romans 10:8-13   "But what does it say?   “The living Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if  you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and   believe in your heart   that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says,   “Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame.”  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek;   for the same Lord is Lord of all,   bestowing his riches on all who call on Him . For  “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Come quickly Lord Jesus.

RAMBLINGS

So many of my posts have been taken from my studies, today it is my ramblings, or talk with God today.  I hope it benefits you.

Tues. Sept. 18/2012 AM
O Lord, why are you mindful of me, a sinner-

My child, my creation you are.  I have redeemed you through the blood of My Son Jesus Christ. You have been adopted back into the fold by your actions.

Yes, and I have accepted the sacrifice of My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as my own.
I pursue you Lord, yet at times I am side tracked by the things of this world.  I stray from the straight and narrow and find myself far from you.  Yet all I have to do is turn around from my follies and you are right there beside me.  Waiting for me to take your hand and return to the path of righteousness.

I know that my life is not always focused on you.  I find it sometimes easier to just play games, read books, or do nothing rather than study and pray, spend time with you.  They are such mindless activities in which I waste my time.

But then I find myself so unfulfilled that I turn back to the scriptures and to prayer and find myself in need of You and Your "Word".

Help me Father, to rid my life of these senseless things that not only don't fill the void, but that take me farther away from you.
Help me make a start and go were you would have me be.  Closer to You.
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

MY GOD'S PRESENCE

"The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you;  He will be with you.  He will not fail you or forsake you.   Do not fear or be dismayed."
Deuteronomy 31:8

The news in the world is frightening, people hurt people, storms are all around, the earth shakes with condemnation at the actions of man against God's  creation.  Where is our hope?  My hope is in the God of creation, My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  May His glory continue in His creation, may He forever reign here on earth as he does on high with justice and righteousness, Amen.

THANK YOU GOD FOR FORGIVENESS

Today is just one of those many days when I realize I have messed up again.  My worst sin is not being accountable in my money management.  I keep saying I will do it right and then I get so speedy minded I just don't keep track of things. So here I am waiting for another check to come in to cover my mistakes.
Sometimes I feel like God should not forgive me again, so I go to Him and say I am sorry, please help me fix this again, and then I remember, He is saying, "what do you mean again?"   Because when He forgave me last time and the time before and the time before that, He forgot it.  Let me show you what I mean.

Psalm 103:11-12 (KJV)

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm   (NET)
103:12 As far as the eastern horizon is from the west, so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions from us

Mathew 7:7-8
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened

Micah 7:19 (NET)
You will once again have mercy on us; you will conquer our evil deeds; you will hurl our sins into the depths of the sea.

Isaiah 38:17(NET)*
“Look, the grief I experienced was for my benefit.
You delivered me   from the pit of oblivion. "
For you removed all my sins from your sight.

Can you see it? The forgiveness of sins, the forgetting of the sin that was forgiven.

These sriptures refresh me, they give me my hope, my strength and my God's Words.

They keep me going, trying harder, living stronger in the walk He has set before me.

The straight and narrow is hard, but it is worth the walk. Like a tight rope across the Grand Canyon, with God as my net below.

I hope this message has helped you today.

STANDING STRONG ON CONVICTIONS

I am not sure the title for today is appropriate, but you can let me know.

If we are going to stand firm in our faith in God and His promises, we have to be sure we understand those promises.  We want to take advantage of His promises of love, peace, joy, prosperity and forgiveness.  But did you ever study on forgiveness?  Let's look at some scripture:

Luke 17

3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Mark 11
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Luke 6:42

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

From these scriptures I am sure you can see that judgement of another person is tricky business.
Our judgement better be about their fruits, not actions that happened in the past or may have already been forgiven by God.

WE are not perfect, neither are they, but it is not our place to judge. Even if they have wronged us.  Especially if we have gone on in our relationship at times as if nothing has happened and then we get angry for something they say or do and then judge the past all over again through the new action.

We have to remember our position in God's eyes.  If someone offends us, then we need to take it to God, and then to that person in love and humility explaining what they have done to hurt or offend us. Then let the relationship develop from there.

James 5:16.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

When some one offends you, you should use the same Grace that God extends to you, to the other person.
Intersession for others through prayer, loving, constructive speech will bring others closer to Christ, but to be angry, spiteful and mean will not help you or the other person.

I seek my Christian brothers and sisters, that they will continue in love and study The Word, pray and remain faithful to the God of our creation, and Our Saviour Jesus Christ.

FAITH-NEVER ENDING

We have been dealing with faith for the past month, today I just want to share with you a few  scriptures.

Our faith walk includes many things, but trust in Him for everything is #1 after our belief.

Proverbs 3:5-6     " Trust in the LORD with all your heart,   and  do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him,   and he  will make straight your paths."
(all quotes are from the English Standard Version)

Philippians 4:19  "And my God  will supply every need of yours   according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Romans 8:38-39  "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I do hope these scriptures bless you, and I hope you are taking time to be with The Lord and study the Holy Word of God.

May God bless you all.

THE LORD'S HELP

tHE LORD'S HELP. WE ALL NEED IT.

How much time do you spend in a day or a week worried about your problems?  How much time struggling with your problems with out seeking the Lord's help?
This is a very common thing, we all do it. Instead we need to be seeking Him and His help, without worry.  Let's look at the Lord's word concerning this problem.

Isaiah 41:10
"Do not fear, for I am with you, do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God: I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

When we spend time worrying about our problems, instead of just letting God help us, we just continue to stress ourselves out.

He already knows our problems, He already is working to handle them, He just wants us to acknowledge Him and that He has the answers.
This doesn't mean we won't reap the consequences of our actions, but it does mean He will be with us and help us through the results of our actions.

Learning to lean on God in all of our daily life is a hard lesson, but He alone can take us through it,  He alone can ease our stress and comfort us in all our life struggles.

Lean on Him... call on Him... have faith in Him. You will find His peace!

LIVING A CHRISTIAN LIFE IN A NON CHRISTIAN WORLD

It is so hard to live a Christian life in this world, especially in this country now.  Everything you do is questioned and people expect you not to do things they find offensive to their absence of beliefs.  God knows good things might rub off on them. OH MY!
Time to stand up for what you believe.
God says:

Matthew 10:32-34    (KJV)

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

One thing I love about living where I live is that you can say what you want and no one disagrees with you.  When I say that God has blessed us greatly here in our home, they say God is so good.
When I lived up north, you had to be careful about what you said, many people found it odd or offensive to speak of God.
I am so thankful that God has given me the freedom to speak of Him before man, and equally thankful that in this part of American I still have that freedom.
Tomorrow is Labor Day, let us thank God that He gave us the freedom to work in His name and accomplish so much here in America.

FATH...LIVING GODLY LIVES

fAITH    Our faith is reflected in how we live our daily lives.  How do we know how to live godly lives?  Our Father God provided direction in His Word.
The directions are every where in His Word.   Just study how His followers, the prophets and how Jesus lived.  It really isn't hard.  Just take the time to study the written Word.  You also need to talk and walk with God and Jesus daily.  Meditate on the scriptures, meditate on Him.  No music, no other books, no TV, no radio, just the Holy Spirit.  Remember the old song..."take time to be Holy, speak oft with the Lord..."

Just DO IT!

HOLDING ON TO OUR FAITH

O God, give me strength.  How often have you prayed for God's help?  Sometimes pain or loss seems so constant that we wonder when we ever had a chance to breath. We are not the only one in time or on earth that has had to live in search of God and His blessings.

"Though He slay me, I will hope in Him"  Job 13:15.
Can you think of anyone more committed to God?  Job had lost his children, all his possessions, his workers, and his health, but he refused to abandon faith in God.  He was determined to hold on because he trusted the Lord to do right.

Unwavering commitment to trust the Lord in all situations is a cornerstone of unshakable faith.  There we can focus our eyes  upon God alone.

We have something Job did not have, we have Scripture, the written Word of God; and that Scripture reveals God's nature and promises.  It is a wise believer who claims those promises when enduring hardship. We know that our God is good, always just, always faithful and always trustworthy.

Let us take our eyes off the day to day activity and concentrate on honoring Him and following in His way, that we may find a consistent peace that carries us through the bounty of His love and the loss of everything we hold dear.

OUR FIRM FOUNDATION

Who is your firm foundation?  Mine is definitely my Lord and God!

He has ways of shaking the world when He is at work.  He caused the ground to quake when Jesus died on the cross, in fact it shook so hard the heavy curtain in the temple that separated the people from the Ark of the Covenant was torn in two pieces down the center. Hebrews 12:26 describes a time still future when the earth will undergo a similar display of His power and presence.

He also shakes our personal world when we build our lives, our marriages, our government and our daily little worlds on everything but His firm foundation of principles.  Our building blocks are usually pride, our own wisdom, and conditional love, things that look good to us but cause our foundation to be weak.
While storms may effect the people around us, we can have peace in knowing that when our lives are built on the foundation of God, our walls, our hearts, our lives will stand strong against the winds of change and challenge.

There is only one firm/secure  foundation, and that is  a genuine, deep relationship with Jesus Christ, which will carry you through all the storms of life.

So stand on His love, on the Rock of the Foundation of Life, God.

THE THREE SOURCES OF TESTING

Our testing can come from three different sources.  One source is the tests sent to us by the lord to test our faith so we can grow spiritually; others are the result of Satan's attacks, and still others are due to our own sinful choices.

Considering that according to the Word of God, we will reap what we sow, (Galatians 6:7), and although we know we will hurt from our actions, we need to take that test we are putting yourself through and work through it.  This trail is the hardest for most of us. When we consider why we did it, we need to turn from doing it again and heal yourself by working through the trial.
I would venture a guess that one trial I go through the most is when I do not plan my finances right and spend more than I should.

I know in my heart that in order to receive the Lord's blessings, I need to realize my mistakes, correct them, have faith and trust in the Lord that He will take my through this trial again.

I need to walk in obedience to His word.

When we suffer the pain of going our own way, we are more likely not to take that path again.

God's arrows of affliction are sharp and painful so He can get our attention.  He won't let His beloved children get away with sin because He knows it robs us of blessings, opportunities, and even character refinement.

Although your situation may be painful, thank your heavenly Father that He cares enough to send out His loving discipline.  Now, how will you respond to His warning?  When we learn from experience, the scars of sin can lead us to restoration and a renewed intimacy with God.

A WALK IN FAITH

Did you know that Faith is an action, there fore it should be Faith in Action.

One of the most interesting books of the Bible is the Book of Ephesians.
There you will  find Paul the Apostle encouraging the people of Ephesus into Faith in Action.

He begins his letter to the people by greeting them as saints who are faithful in Christ Jesus. Then imparting grace and peace to them from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Then he speaks of the redemption in Christ, always he honors God and Jesus with praises.

Let us pick up with chapter 1 vs. 3-14:

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."*

Take the time to reread this scripture and dwell on its meaning and message that  Paul gives us through the Holy Spirit. This in essence is the beginning of faith in Christ and the truth that  God has called us forth to be his children.  It is a good thing to do your study early morning before the work of the day (your quiet time before spouse and children steal your time) and again at bedtime when others are in bed resting already, you will find God renews your strength and spirit as you dine with him.
Tomorrow- yes tomorrow-( it may be a day of rest, but as we rest we are to commune with God)  we will continue in Ephesians, chapter 1 vs15-23.
